of Services
The Office
of Sponsored Programs – Research Administration at Howard
University provides a range of services to researchers at
all stages of the process of seeking and receiving extramural
funding.
At
the Pre-Proposal Stage:
- Resources
and assistance in identifying funding sources

Resources for institutional data and templates for proposal
development

Consultation with faculty individually or in groups regarding
strategies for increasing research funding

Coordination among departments, schools, and colleges for
major funding opportunities

Faculty development seminars for new and experienced faculty
on topics related to faculty needs
At
the Proposal Development Stage:
- Consultation
regarding funding opportunity guideline interpretation and
review

General proposal review (not specialized by discipline)

Assistance in developing and structuring budgets

Liaison among all internal research offices
At
the Pre-Award/Submission Stage:
- Review
of proposals and budgets for format and compliance issues

Assistance with institutional sign-offs required by sponsoring
agency

Detailed budget assistance as needed

Assistance with electronic and traditional submission processes
